Artist: Nicole Collins
Gareth's most recent design for Nicole Collins is absolutely minimal and almost an anti-design. It is clean and simple, well organized and easy to navigate. Text is large and readable. The simplicity of the site stands in contrast to the material complexity of the work.
Artist: Carolyn Dinsmore
Gareth's design for Carolyn Dinsmore is simple, clean and elegant. It features boldly coloured text and a rich textured gray background that reflects her primary interest in surfaces. The artwork sections use detail slivers or "swatches" of her paintings and photographs.
Artist: Kendra Sartorelli
Emerging artist Kendra Sartorelli's website needed to be fun and playful to reflect the nature of her work. Gareth's design made the monsters of her artwork come to life throughout the site. He cut them directly out of her paintings and created drop shadows. The site is filled with bold bright coloured text. Gareth also incorporated his trademark visual links page.
Artist: Colette Laliberté
Abstract installation artist Colette Laliberté's site is clean, simple and very minimal. It uses a flat white background in order to create a gallery like setting which compliments the boldness of the work. On the home page the artwork appears veiled only to become illuminated when the viewer scrolls over the images.

Jungian Analyst & Singer
Elisabeth Pomès
Elisabeth's bilingual site needed to incorporate both her career as a Jungian Analyst and as a Singer and Performance Consultant. Gareth created two destinct sections that are literally mirror images of each other. Gareth's original photography evokes an abstact rose window.

Artist: Jane LowBeer
Printmaker Jane LowBeer's website incorporates a variety of textured backgrounds made from close-up details of her brush strokes. The navigation uses a repetition of squares which mirror a common motif in her artwork. The overall aesthetic is simple and intimate evoking collage and quilting.
World of Threads Festival
Oakville Ontario's World of Threads Festival is an international festival of contemporary fibre art. It needed to demonstrate the many kinds of artwork the festival encourages. Gareth's concept included creating different multi-layered backgrounds for every page. He photographed the raw materials used in fibre and textile art to create sensual colourful pages.

2nd Version
The second version of GarethBate.com is designed to create an emersive environment where the work exists within a context of natural settings that inspire Gareth's work. It is richly textured and conceived as an online art installation or "coffee table book" that gives the viewer a real sense of who Gareth is as an artist and designer.

1st Version
The original version of GarethBate.com was simple and used a dark background to create a sense of drama. The original challenge was how to bring the many facets of Gareth's artwork together in a coherent way. The site was very visually oriented.
